The Chairs by Eugen Ionesco
This production has a number of novel characteristics: such as, its unusual performance space (two industrial halls), its cast (including amateur actors who are actual factory workers) and the fact that although it takes place in a chair factory, actual chairs never appear on stage except from being fragments or ‘sketches’ of the actual objects. The play’s plot is complemented by spectacular choreographic instances performed by factory workers dancing with their industrial tools.

Spectacolul se remarcă printr-o doză de inedit, prin spaţiul de joc, două hale industriale și prin faptul că, deşi se desfăşoară într-o fabrică de scaune, acestea nu apar efectiv, ci doar ca fragmente, ca “schiţe” ale obiectelor finite, cât şi prin distribuţia care integrează actori amatori ( muncitorii din fabrica).. Intriga propriu-zisă a piesei e completată cu momente coregrafice spectaculoase, interpretate de muncitori care dansează cu utilaje industriale.
